Welcome! Unlike Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson, I am not lost in translation but lost in retirement. This blog is going to be, at least I hope, my place for discovery. We tend to work hard at finding what we want to be when we grow up, but when we are done working about the only thing we prepare ourselves for in retirement is our finances. Don't get me wrong, it's important, very important. But we don't always prepare ourselves mentally and emotionally for the loss of routine, of work friendships, of purpose. This blog is really a way for me to chronicle this next phase of my life, and share the ups and downs in the hope that it does a couple of things: help me work through some things and maybe help others think about their retirements as well.  It will be a bit raw, maybe sometimes unfiltered, sometimes nonsensical, happy, sad, funny, thought-provoking, but hopefully worthwhile.
